Ormskirk Golf Club
Ormskirk Golf Club was founded in 1899 on land that was once part of Lathom Park. Harold Hilton's eighteen-hole course opened in 1903, and today it is a mature, tree-lined parkland course.

Golf club furniture for Ormskirk Golf Club
The project came to us through a recommendation from a club member. After consulting the committee on its aims for the lounge, our interior designer presented proposals, and the final scheme was agreed after the committee's feedback.
As on every scheme we design, the committee visited our showroom in Salford to see the furniture in person.
What we supplied
- Consultation with the committee

About Ormskirk Golf Club
The club was founded in the Old Deer Park of Lathom House, on Cranes Lane, about seven miles from the Southport coast. The course began with nine holes, and the clubhouse was officially opened in 1914. A crescent-shaped hollow near the 16th is said to have been a battery position for Cromwell's forces when they attacked Lathom House in 1644.
Today the course covers 125 acres, plays to a par of 70 and measures 6,533 yards from the back tees. It has heathland roots, and some heather and gorse remain among the trees. Ormskirk has hosted Regional Open Qualifying events and county matches, and the clubhouse has a bar, a restaurant, a pro shop and a terrace that members call 'the best beer garden around'.
Red and check, at home in a traditional clubhouse
The lounge mixes three looks that belong in a traditional clubhouse. Dining chairs and bar stools in a bold, warm red give the room energy, tub chairs in a red and cream check bring a touch of tartan, and a deep-buttoned banquette in cream runs beneath the window.
Light oak tables, round and square, and a soft heathered carpet keep it relaxed, while cream walls, panelled doors and big windows onto the course do the rest. Red and check are at home in a golf clubhouse, and here they read as fresh rather than old-fashioned.
