Restaurant furniture that sets the mood
In a restaurant, the chairs and booths set the mood as much as the menu. We have furnished an American diner in Beverley, an inn on the edge of the New Forest and a country house dining room in Wensleydale.
Booths and banquettes are made in our workshops to your layout, and dining chairs come in fabrics and leathers graded A to E. Simonstone Hall came back to us for a second phase of booth seating after its dining room was finished.
Most restaurants mix seating: banquettes along the walls seat more covers, loose chairs move as bookings change, and booths give couples and groups some privacy. Our designers can plan the layout to make the most of the room.
Questions we are often asked
Can you design our booth layout?
Yes. Send us your floor plan and we can return a 2D cross section and a 3D rendering of the seating before anything is made.
Do you supply tables too?
Yes. Table tops and bases can come on the same order as your seating.
Is your restaurant seating fire-safe?
Yes. Every upholstered piece we supply meets BS 5852 (CRIB 5), the fire standard for contract seating in pubs, restaurants, hotels and other public venues.
What is the best seating layout for a restaurant?
Many restaurants combine banquettes along the walls with loose chairs on the other side of the tables, which seats more covers and keeps the room flexible, and add booths where guests want privacy.
How much space do restaurant tables need?
Allow about 600 mm of table edge per diner, and enough room behind each chair for it to be pushed back and for staff to pass. Send us your floor plan and we can plan the covers.
