Cushion fillings
Siliconised fibre is standard on most designs, and foam on traditional chesterfields (foam is only made for chesterfields). The other fillings are available on most designs, at a small extra cost per seat.

Siliconised fibre
Soft, with a plump, full look. Standard on most of our designs.
Soft: plump the cushions often
Double or solo wrap
A foam core wrapped in fibre, so cushions spring back but stay soft. Solo wrap for leather and faux leather, double wrap for fabric.
Medium: little plumping
Domed foam
A dense foam core under a softer foam dome, for a crisp shape that recovers well.
Firm: little or no plumping
Joined feather
A reasonably firm sit with a relaxed, lived-in look. Available on most designs.
Firm: plump regularly
Foam
Full foam, standard on most traditional chesterfields: firm and supportive, and it keeps a tidy finish.

Can’t find exactly what you’re looking for?
We appreciate that our brochures and online literature cannot always capture every requirement. If you have something specific in mind, we would welcome the opportunity to see if we can help. Simply share any guidance you have, such as images, design intent or links to any specific products or styles of interest, and our team will take it from there.
Through our established relationships with leading factories and suppliers across the UK and Europe, Forest Contract has access to an extensive range of products beyond those featured in our brochures. Whatever your vision, we are well placed to help you realise it.
Photography is for illustration only. On request, we can create visuals to show how a design would look in your chosen fabrics and finishes.

Contract sofas, made in our own workshops
Every sofa in our range is made to order in our own workshops in Salford and Blackburn, and every fabric we offer meets BS 5852 (CRIB 5), the fire standard for contract upholstery.
Sizes vary by design, and several are also made as sofa beds, so a reception, lounge and guest bedrooms can share one look. Choose from fabrics and leathers graded A to E by price, or supply your own, treated to CRIB 5. Where nothing in the range suits, we will make a sofa to your drawings, sampled for your approval first.
At Hotel Cromwell in Stevenage, our St George sofas sit beside the fireplace in a Designers Guild stripe; at the Red Lion at Bradley, two St Dunstan Chesterfields in red leather greet guests at the door.
Pub and bar sofas need deep, hard-wearing seats and fabrics that wipe clean; Chesterfields in real or faux leather are a pub favourite. Restaurant sofas often stand in for banquette seating along a wall, and hotel sofas set the tone of a reception or a suite. Several of our designs are also made as sofa beds.
Questions we are often asked
Do your sofas meet contract fire regulations?
Yes. Every upholstered piece we supply meets BS 5852 (CRIB 5), the fire standard for contract seating in pubs, restaurants, hotels and other public venues.
Can you make a sofa to our own size or design?
Yes. As we make our sofas ourselves, we can change sizes and details, or make a new design from your drawings, sampled for your approval before production.
Can we use our own fabric?
Yes. We can upholster in your own fabric, known as customer's own material, treated to meet CRIB 5. Your account manager will tell you how much is needed.
Do you deliver and install?
Standard delivery is to your door on the agreed day. If agreed when you order, our team can also unload, assemble and position every piece, leaving the room ready for service.
What makes a sofa suitable for a pub or bar?
A contract sofa has a stronger frame, firmer and more resilient seat foams, and upholstery that meets BS 5852 (CRIB 5). For pubs and bars, choose faux leather or a coated fabric that wipes clean.
Do you make sofa beds?
Yes. Several of our sofas are also made as sofa beds, for hotel family rooms, suites and apartments.
