Hotel furniture for Hotel Cromwell
We made nearly 100 bespoke headboards and bed frames, each upholstered in fabric chosen by the hotel. In the public rooms, red leather radius booths fill the main dining area, a fluted black leather banquette runs along the bar wall, and classic St George sofas in a Designers Guild stripe sit beside the fireplace.
Beds and headboards are made in our own workshops, so each could be built to its room and upholstered in the hotel's own choice of fabric, from plain velvets to bold patterns.

About Hotel Cromwell
Historic England lists the building at Grade II, describing a mid-eighteenth-century red-brick central block with three box dormers, possibly built around an earlier structure, with later wings to each side. The fireplace in the bar is dated 1667, and the hotel stands at 27 High Street, with its own car park.
Its brasserie and bar, Rump & Wade, reopened in April 2017, serving modern British food from breakfast to dinner, and brewed its own beer until 2020. For weddings and events, the Cromwell Suite opens onto landscaped gardens, with room for about 150 to dine, and an outdoor gazebo is licensed for ceremonies.
Panelled walls, cobalt blue and classic stripes
Hotel Cromwell mixes old and new rather than choosing between them. In the oak-panelled lounge, a pair of St George sofas in a broad Designers Guild stripe face each other across the stone fireplace, on a striped rug in the same spirit, which keeps a traditional room feeling fresh.
The bedrooms are where the colour comes in. Walls are painted cobalt and slate blue and picked out with panel mouldings, and each headboard brings its own personality: one fluted in a tan velvet, another in a harlequin pattern of teal, orange and cream. In Rump & Wade, red leather radius booths curve beneath oversized prints of eighteenth-century portraits, on a navy frame.
