Sofa Beds
A proper sofa by day and a sprung bed by night, made to order in our own workshops for family rooms, suites and serviced apartments.

Choosing a sofa bed for a hotel
A sofa first
Guests sit on a sofa bed far more often than they sleep on it, so it has to look and feel like a good sofa. Every sofa bed in our range is also made as a standard sofa, so a suite's lounge and its bedroom can share one design.
The mechanism
Our contemporary sofa beds use a 2-fold pull-out mechanism, built for regular use in busy venues: the 10M with a 1,800 mm sleeping length, or the 12M with a longer 1,900 mm bed.
The mattress
Each one has a 125 mm (about five-inch) mattress that folds away inside the frame during the day: sprung on the 10M, pocket-sprung on the 12M. A memory foam mattress is available for the 10M.
Sizes
Most designs are made as sofa beds from 2 to 4 seats, sleeping from 830 mm to 1,530 mm wide. As we make them ourselves, details and fabrics can change to suit your scheme.

Can’t find exactly what you’re looking for?
We appreciate that our brochures and online literature cannot always capture every requirement. If you have something specific in mind, we would welcome the opportunity to see if we can help. Simply share any guidance you have, such as images, design intent or links to any specific products or styles of interest, and our team will take it from there.
Through our established relationships with leading factories and suppliers across the UK and Europe, Forest Contract has access to an extensive range of products beyond those featured in our brochures. Whatever your vision, we are well placed to help you realise it.
Photography is for illustration only. On request, we can create visuals to show how a design would look in your chosen fabrics and finishes.
Where you will find them
Hotel sofa beds, made in our own workshops
A sofa bed lets a room sleep three or four guests without a second bed taking up the floor all day. It suits family rooms and suites, serviced apartments and aparthotels, and student and staff accommodation.
Every sofa bed we make is built in our own workshops in Salford and Blackburn, meets BS 5852 (CRIB 5) as standard, and is checked before it leaves the factory. Choose from contemporary and traditional designs, in fabrics and leathers graded A to E or your own.
Questions we are often asked
What is a sofa bed?
A sofa bed is a sofa with a folding bed frame and mattress stored inside it. By day it seats two or three people; at night the frame unfolds into a bed. In a hotel it lets a standard room sleep a family without a second bed taking up the floor.
What sizes are your sofa beds?
Most designs are made as sofa beds from 2 to 4 seats. The bed is 830 mm wide in a 2 seater, 1,150 mm in a 2.5 seater, 1,350 mm in a 3 seater, 1,450 mm in a 3.5 seater and 1,530 mm in a 4 seater, and 1,800 or 1,900 mm long depending on the mechanism. Each design's page gives its outside sizes.
Which is better, the 10M or the 12M?
Both are 2-fold pull-out beds with a 125 mm mattress. The 12M has a pocket-sprung mattress and a bed 100 mm longer, at 1,900 mm; the 10M has a sprung mattress, with memory foam available. Your account manager can advise which suits your rooms.
Are your sofa beds made for hotel use?
Yes. The slatted, webbed mechanism is made for regular use in busy venues, and every sofa bed meets BS 5852 (CRIB 5) as standard.
Can a sofa bed match the other sofas in the room?
Yes. Every sofa bed design is also made as a standard sofa, and both can be upholstered in the same fabric, including your own.
Can we use our own fabric?
Yes. We can upholster in your own fabric, known as customer's own material, treated to meet CRIB 5. Your account manager will tell you how much is needed.
