Student accommodation furniture for Longfield House
We furnished the apartments with 35 bespoke sofas and the beds. The sofas were designed with the client and signed off before production: slim sloping arms, buttoned cushions and dark wooden legs, in a light cream fabric. The beds have divan bases made to the room sizes and cream upholstered headboards to match. After an initial consultation, our designers presented 2D and 3D designs and material boards, and the final design was made in our own workshops.
As on every scheme we design, the client visited our showroom in Salford to see the furniture in person.

About Longfield House
Longfield House is one of five former office buildings at Headingley Park, off Victoria Road, all now converted into rented apartments. Leeds City Council approved the change of use of Longfield House and two of its neighbours from offices to homes in September 2015, and the completed scheme has 222 apartments, from studios to two-bedroom flats, for young professionals and postgraduate students.
The apartments sit in about six acres of landscaped parkland, close to the city centre and the university, with Burley Park station about 0.4 miles away. Residents share a lounge, a co-working area and large gardens.
Light cream, soft blues and clean lines
Longfield House was furnished for students and commuters who want a home rather than a study bedroom, and the look is light and calm. The bespoke sofas have slim sloping arms, buttoned cushions and dark wooden legs, in a light cream fabric that keeps the open-plan rooms bright.
Accents are kept to soft blues and teals, in cushions, throws, rugs and artwork, against white walls and warm wood-effect floors, with a simple grey coffee table and white dining chairs. In the bedrooms, cream upholstered headboards match the sofas, so every room in the apartment feels like part of one scheme.
Cream is a brave choice for rented apartments, and the simple shapes and dark legs keep it looking smart rather than delicate.
