Bar furniture for Sports bar, Liverpool

We supplied the seating in a range of luxury velvets, mixing texture and colour: velvet tub chairs, striped armchairs and deep sofas with scatter cushions.

Every piece was upholstered to order, and like all the upholstery we supply, it met the CRIB 5 fire standard required in UK hospitality. Mixing several velvets, stripes and weaves in one room is straightforward when everything comes from one supplier, on one order and one delivery.

The venue

The setting

Liverpool has one of the liveliest bar scenes in the north, and a sports bar there has to do more than show the match. This one was transformed from top to bottom into a glossy, chic space, closer to a hotel cocktail lounge than a traditional sports bar.

For the seating, that meant comfort through long match days and a look that holds its own when the screens are off. The answer was a mix of shapes and textures across the room, so that a big group, a couple or a lone fan can each find a seat that suits.

The look

Art Deco glamour, in velvet and stripes

The room takes its cue from Art Deco. Fan-patterned wallpaper and geometric screens line the walls, pressed-metal panels catch the light on the ceiling, and fabric drum chandeliers and glass-shaded floor lamps add a soft, golden glow.

The seating mixes texture and colour as deliberately as the walls. Tub chairs come in midnight blue and silver-grey velvets, armchairs in a bold stripe of cream, grey and chocolate, and deep sofas in a black and white geometric weave, piled with scatter cushions. Each piece is different, yet they share one palette, so the room feels collected rather than chaotic.

Velvet makes the most of the lighting, reflecting it softly as you move through the room, and the striped armchairs give the space a rhythm that echoes the Deco lines on the walls.
