Kellas, Isle of Man
Kellas occupies Manxonia House, one of the oldest buildings in Port St Mary, overlooking Chapel Bay. Restored over more than three years, it opened in May 2024 as a café by day and a cocktail bar by night, with restaurants on two floors, a private dining room and a farm shop.

Bar furniture for Kellas
The Kellas team came to us with a clear concept and design already in mind. We matched it from our ranges and supplied a varied selection of seating in time for the opening.
With the scheme already set, our work was in the matching: finding chairs and stools in our ranges, and fabrics in our books, to suit the colours of each room, then delivering everything ahead of the opening.
What we supplied
- Dining chairs in several styles
- Bar stools for the cocktail bar
- Upholstery chosen to the client's own scheme

About Kellas
Kellas opened on 8 May 2024 at Manxonia House on Bay View Road, above Chapel Bay. It was founded by Becki Gelling, who led the project with her aunt, Amanda Dixon. The family bought the house in 2019, later added the neighbouring property and its garden overlooking the bay, and began restoration in late 2020. Kneen Construction carried out the renovation, and the Douglas studio Cubbin & Bregazzi designed the interiors.
At about 5,800 square feet, Kellas is several venues in one: a 20-seat tearoom, a 34-seat restaurant, a 30-seat garden room looking over the bay, a 16-seat mezzanine lounge and the 24-seat Manxonia Suite for private dining, with a farm shop called The Pantry. It takes part in Visit Isle of Man's Manx Menu scheme, cooking with island produce such as Laxey flour, Manx lamb and Honey Mann honey.
Navy, teal and botanical prints under the old roof timbers
Kellas is a confident, colourful interior. In the bar, deep navy walls set off the exposed oak trusses of the roof, and dining chairs in a navy velvet carry the colour onto the floor. The garden room changes key completely, with sage green panelling, a botanical mural of parrots and palms, and rattan pendants.
In the Manxonia Suite, peacock-teal panelled walls frame a long oak table, with chairs that show plain velvet to the table and a woven geometric pattern on their outside backs, so the room looks dressed from every angle. Up on the mezzanine, starburst pendants hang among the beams over blue velvet tub chairs.
