Bespoke banquette seating for The Vale
For Thorns Group we made more than 27 metres of fluted banquette seating in our own workshops, working directly from the architect's drawings. Two shaped banquettes follow the curve of the glazing, and the fluting runs through both the back and the sewn seat.
Banquettes are one of the products we make in our own workshops, so we could work directly from the architect's drawings and fit our programme to a building that went up in a matter of weeks.

About The Vale
Silverstone announced The Vale in March 2026 as a new ultra-premium hospitality experience for the British Grand Prix, held that year from 3 to 5 July. It stands beside the paddock entrance, overlooking the pit entry and the final run of corners onto the start-finish straight, with the lakeside of the inner circuit behind.
The building, designed by the studio Flux Nexus, is an eight-metre-tall, cross-braced aluminium space frame with a ten-metre cantilevered roof that reaches out over the track. On the ground floor, Labombe by Trivet came from the chef Jonny Lake and the team behind the two-Michelin-starred Trivet in London; upstairs there is a second tasting experience, a music lounge, a bar and a terrace. Silverstone calls it the circuit's most intimate space, and it is listed again for 2027.
Fluted putty banquettes, under glass and steel
Silverstone describes clean-lined interiors, restrained materials and a layout that is intentional rather than showy, and the banquettes follow that lead. They are upholstered in Panaz Harvard in a soft putty grey, with deep vertical fluting that runs through both the back and the sewn seat, so each one reads as a single, continuous form.
The bases are clad in dark-stained solid oak, with end caps and plinths that ground the pale upholstery and pick up the dark steel of the glazing. Two of the banquettes curve to follow the line of the glass, so guests sit with the circuit at their shoulder. Among the hanging greenery, sheer curtains and dusky rose chairs, the putty fluting gives the room a calm, tailored base.
