About High Legh Park

High Legh Park opened in 1998, with a course designed by the former Ryder Cup captain Mark James and the course architect Steve Marnoch. A 2013 revamp added two new holes, a golf academy and a nine-hole short course, with greens built to USGA specification so the course can stay open all year. American Golf bought the club in 2021, and since February 2024 it has been run by The Club Company.

Alongside the 18-hole championship course and the short course there is a floodlit Toptracer driving range with 24 covered bays. The clubhouse is made up of three pavilions, a cube, a drum and a rectangular block, clad in cedar and Danish brick and designed to thread through the landscape. Its bar and restaurant seats 100 for dining, with a private roof terrace over the course.

The look

Light wood, cream and a view of the course

The eating area sits in a double-height space beneath a gallery of honours boards, with tall windows onto the course, so the brief was light and bright. Bar stools and dining chairs in cream fabrics on light wood frames line the bar and the high tables, and round tables in a pale oak finish fill the floor.

Lower down, EST tub chairs with fixed seats in charcoal and taupe weaves, and Jane armchairs in cream, give golfers somewhere to settle after a round. The cream and timber echo the cedar outside, and the darker tub chairs keep the room from looking washed out on a bright day.
