Ainscow Hotel and Spa

Forest Contract is proud to have supplied commercial furniture to the iconic Ainscow Hotel, located in the Chapel Street area of Salford, just minutes away from Manchester City Centre. The story of the building’s restoration, from a derelict former brewery to the now iconic Ainscow Hotel, is of great local significance.

Concept

Following a detailed brief from the hotel’s General Manager – Paul, the Forest Contract team worked quickly to create some initial design concepts and colour schemes. The building had laid empty for several years and we had the exciting challenge of bringing it back to life.

Design

With initial concepts approved, the skills of one of our in-house interior designers were put to the test. More detailed design specifications were produced for the interiors; including wall coverings, carpets, fabrics and leathers. Part of the brief included the creation of bespoke and exclusive furniture designed to capture the history of the building and the legacy of the former owners.

Manufacturing

Having our own manufacturing facilities enabled the flexibility required in the design, whilst offering total in-house control of the manufacturing process. Our talented upholstery team quickly moved from product development and design, through each of the manufacturing stages, starting in the wood shop with frame making, through cutting and sewing of materials, upholstery and final fabrication.

Installation

Once manufactured it was over to the installation team to turn the empty shell into a fully furnished hotel with luxury rooms. Our ten person strong team worked over three days to deliver and install furniture to over 70 rooms, as well as completing the restaurant, bar and public areas. Opening on time and on budget, Forest Contract are proud to have played a key part in restoring this local landmark to its former glory.
