A bar and grill in Didsbury
An up-market bar and grill in the heart of Didsbury, seating around 80, with zoned bar and dining areas and an outdoor terrace for the summer months.
Bar furniture for Bar and grill, Didsbury
The owners wanted to keep the building's character, with separate bar and dining zones. We supplied Holly armchairs, Epsom side chairs and Jane bar stools, upholstered in a mix of Modena Slate Grey and the contrasting Modena Mustard, from our range C fabrics.

Furniture on this project
The setting
Didsbury, about five miles south of Manchester city centre, is one of the city's busiest suburbs for eating out, with independent bars and restaurants along Wilmslow Road and School Lane. This bar and grill sat at the heart of it, seating around 80, with separate bar and dining zones and an outdoor terrace for the summer months.
The owners wanted to keep the character of the building rather than strip it out, so the furniture had to suit panelled walls and period details while still feeling current, and to work as well for a relaxed drink at the bar as for a full meal.
Slate grey, mustard and blackboard chic
The scheme is built on grey. Walls are lined with grey panel mouldings and hung with ornate gilt mirrors, while one wall is papered in a blackboard-effect print covered in chalk sketches and notes, and the drinks specials are chalked up on boards in gilded frames. It is a knowing, playful take on the classic grill room.
Against that, the seating mixes two colours from the same fabric family. Slate grey on most of the chairs keeps the room calm and grown-up, and mustard on the rest brings a shot of warmth, repeated in the lighting and the timber. Holly armchairs give diners a deeper, more enclosed seat, and Epsom side chairs keep the tables easy to rearrange for groups.
At the bar, Jane stools in grey stand against a deep-buttoned charcoal bar front, under brass pendants and a back bar of glass shelves and warm timber, with a lit wine wall alongside.
