Can’t find exactly what you’re looking for?
We appreciate that our brochures and online literature cannot always capture every requirement. If you have something specific in mind, we would welcome the opportunity to see if we can help. Simply share any guidance you have, such as images, design intent or links to any specific products or styles of interest, and our team will take it from there.
Through our established relationships with leading factories and suppliers across the UK and Europe, Forest Contract has access to an extensive range of products beyond those featured in our brochures. Whatever your vision, we are well placed to help you realise it.
Photography is for illustration only. On request, we can create visuals to show how a design would look in your chosen fabrics and finishes.

Contract side chairs for every dining room
A side chair is the workhorse of any dining room. Our range runs from classic buttoned and medallion-back designs to slim contemporary shells, with timber frames in a choice of stains, and seats and backs upholstered in fabrics and leathers from our ranges A to E, or your own.
Many designs also come as an armchair or a bar stool, so a restaurant, bar and terrace can share one look. Every upholstered chair meets BS 5852 (CRIB 5), the fire standard for contract seating, and your account manager can help you choose the right chair for the room, the number of covers and the budget.
What you see here is a selection. The brochure details many more designs, with dimensions and finishes, and if nothing suits we can make a chair to your design.
Restaurant chairs need to be comfortable through a long meal and light enough for staff to move. Pub chairs see more wear and more spills, so wipe-clean faux leathers and sturdy frames earn their keep; café chairs work hard all day; hotel dining rooms often call for something more upholstered. Our account managers help match the chair to the room.
Questions we are often asked
Do your side chairs meet contract fire regulations?
Yes. Every upholstered piece we supply meets BS 5852 (CRIB 5), the fire standard for contract seating in pubs, restaurants, hotels and other public venues.
Do your side chairs come with matching bar stools?
Many do. The Bari, Carla, Flow, Joyce, Magda, Manor, Miala, Ohio, Sofia and Sophia all come as both a side chair and a bar stool.
How much space does each diner need?
As a rule of thumb, allow about 600 mm of table edge per person. Two people sit comfortably at a table about 700 mm square, and four at about 1,200 by 750 mm, or 900 mm square. Leave enough room behind each chair for it to be pushed back and for staff to pass.
Can we use our own fabric?
Yes. We can upholster in your own fabric, known as customer's own material, treated to meet CRIB 5. Your account manager will tell you how much is needed.
Can we see the chairs before we order?
Yes. Our showroom in Salford is open seven days a week. To meet our contract team there at a weekend, book an appointment on 0161 737 6918.
What are the best chairs for a pub?
Choose a sturdy timber frame and a hard-wearing seat: faux leather or a coated fabric wipes clean, and a medium-height back is easy to move between tables. Many pubs mix side chairs with a few armchairs and a banquette along the wall.
Do you sell restaurant chairs in volume?
Yes. We supply chairs for whole dining rooms and groups of venues, and your account manager will quote for the quantity you need.
